Proposed Wind Farms - Quebraduras

Some early information gleaned from the Garma Blanca submission.
The 'final' Quebraduras plans and the MCP response make this page out-of-date.

This proposed wind farm is found to the east of Solórzano, north of the road to Badames and on the ridge between Solórzano and the Riolastras depression. Access roads to the generators will, of course, be required. The power line from the site links into the national grid at the Fuente las Varas substation.
The power line will cross over Hoyuca (0107) and pylons may be a risk to Huerto Rey (2519) and other sites.
The map below has a larger, more detailed version where cave codes and centre lines plotted and the apparent maze of existing and proposed power lines can be seen.

A slightly more detailed published map has allowed an approximate positioning of the generators and the access roads (below). This is one of three mapped alternative schemes where the generators are positioned in slightly different places with alternative access road(s). There is also mention of the power line heading northwest to a Cicero substation instead of Fuente las Varas.
The map below has an enlarged version.
Known caves are at risk from these works, especially the sites clustered around the generator labelled 1:04. These are sites 4924, 4927 4949 and the large cave with a long-established bat roost 4004, Cueva de las Palomas. Other caves may be affected but more details from Green Capital Power are required to obtain more accurate works positions.
