MATIENZO CAVES PROJECT
Tackle / Equipment Notes

The Matienzo Caves exploration equipment and tackle is stored in a secure Main Tackle Store for most of the year. Many items are brought out into the Campsite Tackle Store for use during the Easter and summer expeditions.
(Note: capping gear sets are not stored with the rest of the gear and should be requested from the Tackle Masters.)
Phil and Juan are the current "tackle masters" but offers to do the job are sought! All questions about tackle, its signing out and return should be directed to the tackle masters.

The Inventory is a pdf produced from an Excel workbook with 8 sheets. The front page is mainly for people using equipment outside of the main expedition times.
Expedition cavers will be using tackle listed on the Rigging, Rope, Survey and Drills Capping sheets - and filling in the Tackle Used and Returned from Campsite Tackle Store sheet.

PROCEDURES

1: Expedition start. Tackle Master(s) will supervise (i. e. with help from expedition cavers) the movement of tackle from the Main Store to the Campsite Store, filling in one or more Tackle Used and Returned from Main Tackle Store sheet(s).

2: At the Campsite Store there will be a copy of the Inventory, three A4-sized trays and a couple of clip boards with pens.
   (i) Blanks A batch of blank Tackle Used and Returned from Campsite Tackle Store sheets. Use one for every batch of tackle.
(ii) Tackle Out Put sheets here after writing down the tackle removed from the store.
(iii) Tackle Returned Retrieve your sheet from the Tackle Out tray, tick off (cleaned) items returned and put the sheet onto this Tackle Returned tray.

3: Expedition end. Tackle Master(s) will supervise (i. e. with help from expedition cavers) any needed drying and cleaning and the movement of tackle from the Campsite Store to the Main Store, ticking off returned items on the Tackle Used and Returned from Main Tackle Store sheet(s), checking fitness for further use, and placing items back into the designated storage places.
