The GPS reading was taken at the top edge of the "shaft".
A cave cut into the hillside so that the top edge is a 5m drop and the bottom side can be walked down (through brambles). At the bottom, a small stream comes from a sumped pool and flows into the field. It may be possible to drain the sump to some degree and it is probably worth a dive. Holes above the sump all choke.
During dry weather, Easter 2023, the sump had vanished and a hands-and-knees crawl for 8m met deeper water. The passage continues for about 5m to a left hand bend where the explorer "didn't fancy a soaking".
About 7m of passage was found at the bottom end of the shakehole which connects with a tight rift in the field below.
