Updated 26th March 2014
This site came into the Matienzo Caves permit area in 2014.
A large entrance in a big stand of trees. A climb down a "dodgy" slope ends at a big sump pool with underwater passage visible.
When inspected by divers at Easter 2014, the first visitor wrote, "a pool so crap looking, I wouldn't bother diving it if it was in my own back garden". But a second diver described it as a "promising looking sump pool".
The reality turned out to be somewhere inbetween. The underwater passage seen on the right hand side was followed for 3m where it choked with mud. Airspace could be seen and 7 minutes of underwater digging enabled Jim Lister to enter a small chamber above water. A small passage leading off was fully choked with mud. On the dive out, the diver followed the floor of the passage and found a slot which was descended to a blockage of branches.
