A dig at the base of a sandstone cliff, in a depression down below the road junction. This site is perhaps 10 or more metres above passages to the north and above Scafell Aven in Torca La Vaca, site 2889. Station 13 in batch 2889_09_04 comes close and also station "three" in batch 2889_09_01. (See Vaca 3d file).

Excavations started at Easter 2009 and continued on a number of occasions over the summer. The dig is now at a stage where scaffold pole is holding up a sandstone block above a small chamber at the end of an excavated crawl. Bouldery space can be seen beyond but further stabilisation is required - the situation after some December 2009 work. A very good draught now comes from the site.

The site was surveyed to the nearby house corner the summer, 2010. It was revisited at Easter 2013 and some boulders were pulled out from the flat-roofed chamber at the bottom of the hole. The very loose shaft parallel to this was also descended and the site described as "an interesting but loose cave".

Site 3286, a draughting dig in a cold store, is located at the other side of the depression, beneath a house, and it also has potential.
