A partially excavated dig below site 3228.
The dig is currently through "cave mud" with bits of embedded rock, some with calcite on it. There are also walnut shells in the mud - which are a common feature inside Espada at these levels. Under the LHS there is "proper cave roof", with space above the spoil, although, to be fair, it will all need quite a bit of digging - but I think it is worth spending one or two days at least on it before it's written off. The typical passage inside the cave (Espada) has soil run-in completely filling the tubes down from the roof, so no draught (yet).
Worth spending a little time on. Now covered with a pile of branches - it will need a better covering if it gets deeper as cows are sometimes in the woods. [Dave Bell]
