Three features have little more than a metre between each. This site is the most northerrn; 5359 and 5360 lie to the south. (See video)
The duck-in entrance is walking size passage for 5m to a 2m climb down fluted pillars and calcite to limited space and a good draught. Stones rattled down one small hole for several metres. By the end of 2 digging sessions "the climb down was 5m to the capping spoil heap with a narrow rift heading back towards the entrance. In front, through a hole large enough for both feet, was a narrow downward tube that appeared to break out a metre or so below foot level. Stones bounced down what might be a steep slope or, if unlucky, a too narrow rift." [Phil Parker]
Three visits were made in the autumn 2023 when the entrance was draughting in. The entrance rift was widened and digging and widening at the end enabled a view down "about 8m to a floor in a hading rift". The rift remains very tight at the top.
The ledge was almost reached over Easter 2024 when a dozen trips spent hours removing rubble and enlarging the rift. The rift appears to be about 50m deep but the site remains tight and awkward to work in. More trips were undertaken in September 2024.
