This site has been explored and surveyed by the Grupo Espeleológico de Santander del C.A. Tajahierro. Their survey is published in Exploraciones en Solorzano (Santander) in Los Sótanos de la Tierra, No. 5, 1980, Santander (ref. 1980a).
The cave was re-explored and re-surveyed at Easter 2014. A large open entrance leads to an entrance chamber used by animals. The passage gradually gets smaller until a squeeze and narrow rift are reached. As the passage widens, it slopes up and comes to the head of a pitch starting as a slope and then becoming a vertical p8. A comfortable walking passage descends and ends, with a lower passage which chokes and a tricky climb to a ramp that also soon finishes. A dig just before the p8 was excavated as an upward slope into a chamber and a small, draughting slot.
According to the GES description, there are three other shafts in the vicinity, probably sites 4008, 4009 and 4010.
