This dig is about 80m northwest of site 2743, below the judge's house. An excavated hole above the track which has a strong draught in warm weather. There were several visits in August and one in October. The grid reference above is an average of 2 readings about 12m apart.

In October, some time was spent enlarging the entrance hole to get down with a digging bucket. Some boulders were dug out of the floor above a hole down, establishing it as a possible dig, but it needs a better bucket (handled liquid container type) rather than the Big Mat concrete bucket. A pulley on the back wall would give a straight lift. Down the hole at the bottom it is impossible to dig - "like taking the top off a pillar box and dropping in, no room to bend down to dig".

More excavation took place on Boxing Day 2011. There may be prospects under the uphill wall at the base.
