Updated 1st December 2011
Passage goes down 8m hand-lined, steep slope to sheep bones. A short passage goes to a rift on the left which was pushed through tight squeezes to a 5m diameter chamber with a further tight rift pitch dropping down about 9m. The bigger passage seen below was eventually entered with the passage heading southeast into a mud filled chamber. There are no obvious leads here and no draught.
On exiting the chamber, a body-sized tube can be found in the right hand wall and this has been pushed for about 20m and is still going. From the top of the ladder, the rift continues heading north for 20m into a calcited chamber - too tight.
In November 2011, the site was further investigated. "The previously descended pitch was found to be too tight and requires further investigation. Continuation over the pitch leads to a roomy chamber with higher level chamber directly above. Access to the higher level is via a tight slot in the roof accessed by bolting." There is no obvious continuation.
There is "more to do Easter 2012", including a survey.
