Situated just on the Matienzo side of the ridge, the shaft lies in the side
of a rocky depression. The shaft is 8m to a large ledge of wedged blocks
which splits the shaft. Narrow rifts descend on both sides of the ledge and
unite 10m lower down. The last 8m is in a rift 6m long and a metre and a
half wide. A level floor at the base of the shaft is a mixture of clay, small
rocks and bones. Water seeps away at each end of the rift down narrow joints.
The middle section of the shaft is quite awkward and is best descended on
side nearest to surface depression.
A Disto was dropped down the shaft on the first visit; the second recovered
the (still working) Disto and explored the hole.
