A big slip rift against the solid cliff up in trees. A climb down at the east end leads to a 4 or 5m drop at the west end. The grid reference is taken about 30m out from the rift in more open ground.
The site was explored in October 2007. The western end of the rift was found to be draughting out quite strongly. After some boulders were pulled out one large slab blocked the way in. An attack on this with hammer and chisel removed the obstruction. (Note the LHS of the entrance looking in is large, dangerously loose boulders.)
A very loose, 5m deep pitch leads to a rift passage. Back under the entrance, the rift is choked, whilst to the west a 0.5 to 1m wide rift can be followed for 32m to a choke. The rift is 3 to 5m high with a mud floor. The 32m passage runs mainly on 270 degrees whereas the entrance rift is on 225. The 270 degree direction is likely to bring the passage back out into the valley unless it pitches.
