Just up the valley from the tower is a scar with an entrance down the back of a slipped block. A 2m climb down has a dig into a small chamber where the way on need enlarging. This was found to be draughting out in 2009 and it may repay a larger dig which will be relatively easy as the floor is compacted silt. Two other digs were found to be draughting out strongly but will be harder to do, with not a lot of space to stack debris.
After some digging in a draught in 2012 the logbook states, "It needs a big dig to remove enough of the silt and sand to see where it is coming from".
