In difficult limestone terrain above the cliff that contains caves
271, 272,
273 and 274. A 4m deep shaft
to a base of boulders with gaps and possible continuation. Other undescended
holes exist on the route back to the northern end of the cliff.
In 2005, the hole was possibly seen again, with the GPS grid reference above.
(Original grid reference is VN53839728 Altitude 525m).
However, this site is labelled "M5" as is site 273 in the cliff below. So
it is likely that the position of site 1585 is really 635 and there is another
hole around here. This won't be definitively cleared up until "635" is
re-explored down through 273 to the surface.
The holes seen in the top section of the cliff above 271 - 274 have been abseiled into and found to be alcoves on the joints.
