A rope was attached to a sturdy tree up by the fence was used as a belay for a 25' ladder. This was slightly short for the sloping pitch so the last part of the 9m pitch was climbed into an area of unpleasant rock with no further way on. The only feature was a parallel shaft ending at the same level and there was no draught. [Site 17a; Phil Parker]
