In August 2006, the hole was described as "a 2m x 0.5m overgrown slot which is about 2m deep with unexplored passage at the base". In April 2022 the description from the logbook reads, "A slot with solid sides goes down 2m to a boulder floor. Solid side continues down on north side (undercut) but full of rock.Could be removed and passed out of hole. No draught, cow bones, whole skull with antlers."
